Protests in Ukraine have moved beyond Kiev and into the parts of the country which have been supportive of President Victor Yanukovych’s pro-Russia policies. Over the weekend protesters occupied government buildings and continued their call for the president’s resignation. The Ukrainian government has launched a military operation in the region to try and quell the unrest. Mychailo Wynnyckyj, an associate professor of Sociology, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla (Kiev moh-hay-lah) Academy, took part in the protests of over the weekend. He gives us an update.
