Guam, an unincorporated territory of the United States, last week became the first U.S. territory to recognize same-sex marriage. Senator Benjamin Cruz, vice-speaker of Guam’s Legislature, presided over the wedding ceremony of the first couple to apply for a license and challenge the island’s ban on same-sex marriage.
