It seems near impossible these days to get folks to agree on what needs to be done to stem gun violence in this country. The phrase gun control means different things to different people: for some it means reducing death. For others it’s a slippery slope towards taking away guns. Where’s the middle ground? Can it be reached? President Obama was given the opportunity Thursday night to sell his gun control policies to an invited group of people from both sides of the gun debate. He touched on everything from background checks and his support for the Second Amendment to curbing gun trafficking. We assigned two people to watch Thursday’s event and come on the Morning Shift with their reactions-how they view the issue and what steps they think need to be taken.
