Hate crimes against Black, Jewish Chicagoans are rising
Chicago’s Commission on Human Relations has seen a 71% jump in reported hate crimes this year so far.
This local numbers mirror a trend that we’ve seen with hate crimes across the state and the nation. There was a 430% increase in antisemitic reports in Illinois between 2016 and 2021, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
