At the start of every school year, especially in big cities, it takes a little while to get everyone situated. There’s always a lot of shuffling when it comes to enrollment. But by the end of the first month - or the 20th school day to be exact - CPS locks in it’s enrollment figures. WBEZ and Catalyst Chicago have been digging into this year’s numbers, following two interesting shifts. WBEZ education reporter Linda Lutton and Catalyst Chicago’s Sarah Karp discuss what they’ve found in the numbers so far this year.
