Thanksgiving is a time when we think about our own circumstances and about the less fortunate. But one Chicagoan has been thinking about those folks every day, as part of his job, for two decades. Ed Shurna is the executive director of the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless. He’s retiring from the non-profit organization later this month, and he reflects on the changes he’s seen in Chicago’s homeless population since the 1990s.
