Help Us Re-Imagine Schools In Chicago

WBEZ brings you fact-based news and information. Sign up for our newsletters to stay up to date on the stories that matter.

Editor’s Note: This project is in collaboration with the University of Chicago’s Center for Effective Government at the Harris School of Public Policy.

From a global pandemic, to a racial reckoning, to a historic and contentious election — the events of the past year have reshaped our society. Over the next few months, WBEZ’s Reset will re-imagine how the nation’s third-largest city could function better for all its residents.

We’re investigating how city government, investment, public safety and schools work — or don’t work — in Chicago, looking for solutions for how to improve those systems. And we want to hear your ideas, experiences and questions.

Starting July 12, we’ll take four weeks to evaluate how education works in Chicago, what hindrances there are to change and what we can learn from other cities. (Listen to the previous series on public safety.)

What would you change about Chicago’s education system?

Tell us in one of two ways:

  1. 📧 Record a voice memo answering the question: “If you could change one thing about Chicago schools, what would it be?” Then send it to us using this form .

  2. 📞 Leave a voicemail answering the same question at 888-915-9945.

Your answer could end up on the show, and a Reset producer may follow up with you. Questions? Email reset@wbez.org.
