There’s a new, ambitious Middle East passageway being carved from Turkey to Saudi Arabia. The “Abraham Path,” will stretch for 3,000 miles when completed.

The World Bank has invested 2 million dollars on a portion of the trial that runs through the West Bank and a hiker community has sprung up among Palestinians, along with a guide business for tourists. 

We speak with writer Brian Mockenhaupt about his hike from Hebron in the south - to Jenin in the north. He wrote about his journeys in the September 2016 issue of Backpacker magazine in a feature called “The World’s Unlikeliest Trail.”
