Just when we thought it was getting warmer in Chicago, an icy wind blows in from Canada in the form of singer-songwriter Lindy Vopnfjord. Born in Iceland, his parents felt it wasn’t cold enough, so they settled in Winnipeg! He started performing in front of an audience at the tender age of four, formed a folk-rock band with his brother in the ‘90s, and led an indie band in the “oughts”. After taking some time off to start a family, Lindy returned to recording with the solo album Young Waverer. Several singles from the album charted in Canada, and it recently got a release here in the U.S. Vopnfjord hits Morning Shift before he takes the stage Friday night at Schuba’s.
