The Human Rights Campaign issues an annual rating of U.S. companies’ dedication to LGBT equality in the workplace. This year’s Corporate Equality Index includes several Illinois-based companies that scored 100. And, it’s not just about hiring more gay and lesbian workers; the report touts that corporate America has been a leader in the transgender community, often offering transgender-inclusive health care packages. One of the companies that scored a 100 is Chicago-based Aon. We talk with Nichole Barnes Marshall, leader of Aon’s global diversity and inclusion program, about what the company does to receive this distinction.
