A northern Illinois native was among those wounded in a shooting at Los Angeles International Airport.

Relatives say 29-year-old Brian Ludmer, originally from the Chicago suburb of Lake Forest, was shot in the leg during Friday’s attack by a gunman who appeared to be targeting TSA agents.

Ludmer currently lives in the Los Angeles area and is a technical director for high school theater programs. He is a graduate of Lake Forest High School and the University of Illinois.

A cousin, Tim Flaherty, tells the (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald that Ludmer was in “OK condition” after surgery on Friday afternoon.

He says Ludmer was shot while waiting to board a flight to Boston for a family wedding.
