A couple of months ago, Mount Sinjar in Iraq made news as ethnic Yazidis fled to the mountain for safety from Islamic State. U.S.-backed Kurdish forces along with U.S. airstrikes reportedly “liberated” the Yazidis, but news from on-the-ground may tell a different story.
