The judge in the murder case against the Chicago cop who shot Laquan McDonald denied a motion Thursday to disqualify the officer’s attorney. Before Dan Herbert represented Jason Van Dyke, he represented five other cops during interviews with a city agency investigating the shooting. Special prosecutors said those officers could be key witnesses at the trial. But Cook County Judge Vincent Gaughan said he did not see see a potential conflict.
