Young Kail Baxley needed an outlet. Abandoned by his parents, raised by his grandfather until the age of 12, often on the move, the South Carolina native found that outlet in the ring as a successful amateur boxer who nearly made the Olympics. It was during his wanderings that he found his other great outlet-music. Baxley set to work on fusing the different sounds he’d heard all his life, from gospel to hip hop, from blues to rock.
