A few weeks ago, the Morning Shift received an email from David Green, a teacher at North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka.

Attached to the email were a couple of examples of a podcast that he and his third grade students put together during the school year. That podcast, it turns out, is really, really good.

The students researched topics and organizations that tie in to the school’s motto “Live and Serve.” They then conducted interviews with people from those organizations, recorded intros and transitions and did an expert audio mix. Take it from the radio professionals: That is not an easy feat!

Morning Shift sat down with Mr. Green and three of his students to hear about the podcast. We also checked in with one of the organizations that the students profiled, a literacy program called Reach Out And Read in Illinois.

You can also listen to the Third Grade Audio Podcast’s two episodes below.
