The Marjorie Kovler Center at Heartland Alliance serves survivors of torture from around the world who rebuild their lives in the Chicago community.

On April 27, the Kovler Center is hosting a benefit to present the Robert H. Kirschner Award for Global Activism to Zaher Sahloul, MD. Sahloul led 14 medical mission into Aleppo and built up the Syria American Medical Society to the point where they treated 2.6 million Syrians in 2015. 

We talk with Sahloul and the senior director of the Marjorie Kovler Center, Mary Lynn Everson.
