The Polish film Ida won the Academy Award last night for Best Foreign Film. The “U.S. distributor who did a great job for very little money” is none other than Music Box Films, right here in Chicago. It wasn’t enough for the film freaks at the Music Box to show great independent and foreign films at the theater…they wanted to bring great movies to as wide an audience as possible.
