“A local group of high school students has convinced the Mississippi State Parole Board next week to consider a request to clear the name of a Chicago man.

They say Clyde Kennard was framed and sent to prison for stealing chicken feed more than 40 years ago, and their work has civil rights groups paying attention.

Stevenson High School students Mona Ghadiri, Agnes Mazur, and Callie McCune are working with legal experts to clear Kennard’s name.
