By Jerome McDonnellEvery year, the anti-militarism organization Chicago Area Peace Action hosts activists and foreign policy experts from around the world at its Chicago Peace Summit. Loyola University’s campus plays host to this year’s installment on Saturday, with panels on a range of global issues from climate change to Middle East conflict, the ethical issues surrounding development in Africa and the civil war in Yemen. Joining today’s show are the presidents of DePaul University’s and Loyola University’s chapters of Chicago Area Peace Action Jack Bertran and Quinn Sullivan, who co-organized the summit. We’ll hear from them about what attendees can expect from the event, as well as what the organization does year-round to address issues of global violence and inequality.
