Macron Fights Eurosceptics in France, as UK Postpones ‘Brexit’ Vote

On Saturday, protesters took to the streets of Paris for the fourth weekend in a row, dressed in neon yellow vests, to symbolize rebellion. They are protesting French President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to hike carbon taxes. Major touristy areas in Paris shut down due to the demonstrations and some rioting, leading to dozens of arrests and injuries. In response, the French government scrapped the tax proposal, but this has not stopped the momentum as French citizens decry broader problems with the administration. Joining us to discuss is Maxime H. A. Larive, a senior research associate at the EU Center of Excellence at the University of Miami.  He’ll also update us on the latest surrounding “Brexit”. UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, has postponed a House of Commons vote on her plan to leave the European Union to avoid what one fellow MP said would have been a “humiliating” defeat.
