In 2008, Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, and Beyonce Knowles told one version of the Chess Records story in the star-filled Cadillac Records. But, at the same time, another film was being made. This one focused more on the Chess brothers, their families, and how they went from being music fans to owning a business that would become synonymous with the blues and the city of Chicago itself. The film is called Who Do You Love, and it opens today at Chicago’s Landmark Century Centre Cinema. Marshall Chess is the son of co-founder Leonard Chess and a well-regarded music producer in his own right. He talks about the film and the music that came out of Chess records.
