Mayor Lightfoot Halts Water Meter Program Due To Lead Levels

On Tuesday, Mayor Lori Lightfoot joined the city’s Department of Water Management to announce the city has halted its residential water meter program.

Mayor Lightfoot ordered city officials to stop water meter installations last month, after recent testing showed high levels of lead in some homes.
