A little more than a week into her tenure, Mayor Lori Lightfoot presided over her first City Council meeting yesterday, where she faced much less opposition from aldermen than some had anticipated. 

She also took a no-nonsense approach to dealing with the body’s longest-serving lawmaker: 14th ward Alderman Ed Burke.
