Medical marijuana growers in Illinois aren’t worried about a Department of Justice memo that could threaten their operations. U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions released a memo that says marijuana businesses should be prosecuted. Ross Morreale is an attorney and a medical marijuana grower in Illinois. He says so far he isn’t worried because a federal provision protects state regulated medical marijuana programs until at least mid-January. It was part of the temporary spending bill Congress passed last month. Growers are optimistic that the amendment will be extended.
