A small but vocal group of Mormon women say they don’t feel seen or heard enough in the place that matters most to them: Their church. These Mormon feminists had been encouraged by signs the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was slowly giving women more power and more voice in the church. But they say there were shocked and disheartened by the recent excommunication of a prominent Mormon feminist. At the same time, many other women in the church say that particular feminist’s protest had gone too far, and they say they feel empowered by the church.
