Milos Stehlik, WBEZ film contributor and director at Facets Chicago, interviews the world’s up-and-coming filmmakers. Today he chats with Chloé Zhao. Her new film, The Rider, details the inner struggles of Brady, a Native American cowboy. After a serious head injury from a riding accident, Brady wrestles with giving up the rodeo, which gives his life meaning. Zhao confessed in Vogue magazine, “I have an obsession with the old West.” Milos and Zhao will discuss her film, which one critic wrote has “reinvented the western.”

The Rider opens Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Chicago area theaters, AMC River East 21, Music Box Theatre, and Century 12 Evanston/CinéArts 6 and XD.
