Northwestern University’s Middle East and North Africa Studies program (MENA) is hosting Ghobadi for screenings and discussions on several of his films, including No One Knows About Persian Cats, showing Friday, May 25, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Block Museum. Joining Ghobadi is Hamid Naficy, professor in Communication at Northwestern University. A leading scholar in Middle Eastern cinemas and media, Naficy will share his thoughts on Ghobadi’s craftsmanship and the current state of Iranian filmmaking.
