The 2018 Oscars are over, but no film dominated the night. The Shape of Water won Best Picture and Best Director. Jordan Peele made history as the first African-American to win for Best Original Screenplay for his horror satire, Get Out. Best Actress winner Frances McDormand may have had the line of the night. “I have two words to leave with you tonight, ladies and gentlemen: inclusion rider.” An inclusion rider would mean that A-list celebrities could include in their contracts a demand that a movie project has set percentages for underrepresented groups, working in front of and behind the camera.
