Earlier this month Chicago-based Tribune Publishing announced that it would offer all of its salaried employees what’s called discretionary time off. This allows employees to take all the vacation they want as long as they’re meeting their work goals. It might sound like a dream come true for work-life balance, but how does this really play out in the workplaces where it has already been implemented?
