1. Sharks Before Drowning performed this past weekend (again) at Northwestern University and as our own Laura Molzahn said, “Don’t let all the NU kids get the good seats”.  We hope you listened.

2. Tonight at Beat Kitchen is a benefit for Mary Mainard, featuring some of your favorite comedians.  They include: Beth Stalling, Ryan Walker, Lisa Laureta, Mike Lebowitz, Cameron Esposito, Tiffany Puterbaugh, and Bess McGeorge. Called Comedians with a Heart, the show goes up at 8:30 pm.

3. The Landmark Project is still wracking up accolades, with theater columnists throughout Chicago weighing in. “This is the evening out our new mayor should put on his summer calendar,” said Hedy Weiss. And Robert Koon’s “Navy Pier” brought Chris Jones to tears. Powerful stuff.

4. The Sun-Times’ Mike Thomas asks “Does anybody remember laughter? Specifically, the laughter that once emanated from a thousand comedy caverns and chuckle huts that dotted Chicago’s downtown and North Side in the ’80s and ’90s?” Well, the Laugh Factory is returning to Chicago, potentially bringing back the hey-day of comedy, though some might argue the hey-day really gone anywhere. It’s anybody’s guess whether Chicago has room for another comedy club.

5. The aforementioned Baby Wants Candy is offering a discount to “Grads and Dads” in the month of June (for graduation and Father’s Day). The tickets are only $10, which is yet another reason to get on board.
