Community Counseling Centers of Chicago - known as C4 - says it will have to close its doors at the end of May. C4 serves over 10,000 people a year. The City of Chicago closed half its mental health clinics in 2012, and Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner is proposing hefty mental health cuts in his new budget. Mental Health workers across the city say the diminishing community based services will likely mean more people in prison, nursing homes, and emergency rooms.
