This summer, the Chicago Police Department is running a series of listening tours around the city to hear from residents about police-community relations. CPD hasn’t made the list public. Instead, it’s reaching out to churches and other organizations one by one to set up the meetings. As a result, there hasn’t been much media coverage of what goes on when Superintendent McCarthy and his deputies take questions from the public and listen to their concerns.
