Good Friday morning!

Hope you’re almost done with a reasonably-decent week. I was out of town for a work trip last weekend and had *all* the fun, which means I’m really looking forward to building a blanket fort and hiding out for 48 straight hours.

YA fantasy superstar author Leigh Bardugo’s first adult book is out. It’s called Ninth House, and so far it’s pretty great! I think after this, I’ll dive into She Said.

It’s very close to Thanksgiving, so I assume you, like me, already have group-shared Google docs with menu plans. But if you’re still wondering what to make for dessert, and you want to know how the stars’ alignment might have something to do with that, you’re in luck — Bon Appetit has you covered.

And hey, you know what’s delightful? This New York Times profile of Tom Hanks. He’s playing Fred Rogers in the upcoming movie A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, based on this lovely Esquire article by Tom Junod (it’s all very meta). And if you haven’t heard Tom on Nerdette, you absolutely must, because he really is just as kind as you’d hope.

And hey, we have a new podcast episode in which we recap Episode 2 of HBO’s His Dark Materials! I’m in it! Tricia’s in it! Also Peter!

Ok, that’s all I got for now — keep in touch with me on Twitter (where I retweet pics of what might be the best book category ever) and Instagram (where I post pictures of food and plants and personal hero) if you want!

Happy napping! (And if you like what you just read, sign up here to get it delivered to your inbox every Friday.)
