New bill seeks to provide comprehensive, affordable healthcare for more low-income Illinoisans
The Healthy Illinois For All bill aims to expand healthcare options for low-income people, regardless of their immigration status.
Illinois is one of the few states to provide comprehensive health care to state residents, including undocumented immigrants, over the age of 42. The new proposed bill would extend that coverage to Illinois residents between the ages of 19 and 41, and advocates say it could help an additional 116,000 low-income people become insured.
