Cook County’s juvenile jail has a new superintendent. The jail, officially known as the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center, holds around 300 kids every day. The juvenile jail has been under the leadership of federal monitor Earl Dunlap since 2007 - he was appointed by a federal judge after a lawsuit over conditions at the jail. But last month, Leonard Dixon was appointed to be the new superintendent. He joins us in studio on the Morning Shift to detail what’s ahead. (Flickr/mikecogh)
