Some parts of the nation is in a panic over Ebola. But a few years ago it was H1N1, and before that it was SARS. So what are the lessons learned from past epidemics on how to avoid panic, while distributing information responsibly? Two University of Chicago professors recently explored the topic in the paper, PANIC! Social Learning and the Response to SARS in Taiwan.
