The Red Zone is the term used to describe the period from the start of the fall semester through Thanksgiving break when college students are most at risk of being sexually assaulted. School has been in session for less than two weeks and the University of Notre Dame has already seen two reports of sexual assault on campus and one of sexual battery. The news comes just as the university launched “Green Dot,” a new sexual assault education program. In the wake of the alleged incidents, St. Joseph County Prosecutor Ken Cotter urged anyone who has been sexually assaulted to report the crime.
