An Illinois Department of Public Health laboratory is functioning today. That’s after a pipe burst at the West Side facility over the weekend. The IDPH lab in Chicago’s Medical District tests infectious diseases and performs newborn screenings. The agency says there is no public risk. Lab operations resumed this morning as damage assessment continues.
