You have your television seasons and your sports seasons. And, for book lovers in Chicago, you have the ‘One Book, One Chicago’ season. Every year, after collecting suggestions from librarians and patrons, Chicago Public Library and the Mayor choose a book that exemplifies a theme of why they think Chicago is great. This year’s selection is ‘The Third Coast: When Chicago Built the American Dream’ by Thomas Dyja. One Book, One Chicago programmers say it speaks to the theme of Chicago as a city that gives.
