Earlier this year, the Southern Poverty Law Center released its findings that the number of hate groups in the U.S. had hit a 20-year high, and that the most significant growth was in the number of white nationalist organizations, up from 100 in 2017 to 148 in 2018.

But how is this rise in white nationalism playing out in schools — filled with impressionable students?

A new toolkit developed by an English teacher in Chicago aims to help students and adults figure out how to deal with white nationalism in student settings.
