Our Representatives: Congressman Luis Gutierrez

For the “Our Representatives” series, Morning Shift is reaching out to all 26 congressmen, congresswomen, and U.S. senators who represent the WBEZ listening area in Washington.

For this third installment, we turn to Democratic Congressman Luis Gutierrez of Illinois’ 4th district. He represents Chicago neighborhoods like Humboldt Park, Hermosa, and Little Village as well as other parts of Cook County like Riverside, Brookfield and Melrose Park. He’s known as a fierce advocate for comprehensive immigration reform. Recently, he’s been a vocal supporter of more funding for Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
