Activist Kathy Kelly, the co-coordinator of the peace group Voices for Creative Nonviolence, spends a great deal of time in Afghanistan documenting human rights issues and the effects of U.S. drone attacks. Kelly and a colleague will soon go on trial on charges of criminal trespassing onto the Whiteman Air Force Base in Kansas City. Kelly says they took a loaf of bread to the military installation in hopes of “breaking bread” and talking about drone policy with the base commander. Kelly will tell us why she believes much of U.S. drone warfare results in “extrajudicial killings.” (photo: In this Jan. 31, 2010 file photo, an unmanned U.S. Predator drone flies over Kandahar Air Field, southern Afghanistan on a moonlit night.
