Activist Kathy Kelly, the co-coordinator of the peace group Voices for Creative Nonviolence, spends a great deal of time in Afghanistan documenting human rights issues and the effects of U.S. drone attacks. Kelly and a colleague will soon go on trial on charges of criminal trespassing onto the Whiteman Air Force Base in Kansas City. Kelly says they took a loaf of bread to the military installation in hopes of “breaking bread” and talking about drone policy with the base commander.
