Many Muslims in the West say they live in a climate of fear, suspicion and persecution since 9/11. Some Christians have said they believe Islam is at war with them. David Goa is a Christian philosopher who believes there is much that people of faith, especially Christians, can do to bridge the gap. He’s director of the Chester Ronning Centre for the Study of Religion and Public Life at the University of Alberta in Edmonton and author of The Christian Responsibility to Muslims. He’s also chief curator of an online exhibition called “U Encounter”. Goa made news by advocating for and mentoring Omar Khadr, who was the youngest detainee at Guantanamo Bay at age 15. He joins us to discuss his efforts to bridge the religious divide. (Photo: Flickr/Labi_ks)
