Chuck Jines will wade into news events as they’re happening, documenting events as they unfold in a split second for the likes of the BBC and the Daily Mail. But Jines also likes to take his time. He’s spent more than 3 years befriending, helping, and of course photographing, a group of long-term homeless men that live in the Loop. He’s also spent more than 18 months learning about the lives and daily routines of heroin addicts who live on Lower Wacker Drive. Chuck Jines joins us to talk about his work and his desire to tell human stories in a variety of ways. (WBEZ/Lacy Scarmana)
