A feud between Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the speaker of the parliament, Ali Larijani, heated up over the weekend when Ahmadinejad accused the speaker of corruption. In today’s New York Times, we learn that one of Ahmadinejad’s allies has been arrested, possibly for providing information about Larijani’s younger brother (see below). Larijani could succeed Ahmadinejad as president after elections in June, and some see the corruption charges as manufactured.
