This week on Politics with Amy Walter, we examine all aspects of early voting. 

Election day is less than two weeks away, but lots of people have already cast their ballots. All but 13 states have some form of early voting this year and as of earlier this week, more than 10 million people had voted early. 

In Harris County, Texas, which includes Houston, more than 180,000 voters already cast votes as of early this week. That’s a voting rate on par with presidential year elections. The big race: Senator Ted Cruz is facing off against Democrat Beto O’Rourke. 

And this enthusiasm can be felt over in Georgia too.

In the first week of in-person early voting, over 480,000 votes were cast in the state - three times as many as this point in 2014. Some locations have had three-hour lines. There, the state’s governor race between Democrat Stacey Abrams and Republican Brian Kemp is on many voter’s minds. 

We hear from voters in Macon and Houston, and examine what the historic early voting numbers mean for the outcome of the midterms with Michael McDonald, a professor at the University of Florida, and founder of the US Elections Project and Sasha Issenberg, author of “The Victory Lab.”
