Pope Francis Opens Commission To Look At Ordaining Female Deacons

In the early days of the Catholic Church women were allowed to be ordained as deacons. The practice later subsided and, although the scripture remains cloudy on the matter, now Pope Francis is taking a look at it. We speak with William Cavanaugh from DePaul University about the larger context of church policy.
