The general assembly’s Joint Criminal Reform Committee heard testimony from Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Tuesday. The Mayor told the committee why he thinks marijuana possession should be reduced to a misdemeanor, changing current sentencing laws in the state. WBEZ’s Patrick Smith was at the hearing and explains how the Mayor’s testimony was received by legislators.
