Gov. JB Pritzker signed a new bill into law on Wednesday that would bar employers from asking job applicants about their salary history.

Supporters of the No Salary History law say it will go a long way to closing the wage gap between men and women.

Passed with bipartisan support, the law takes effect in 60 days.

Morning Shift dives into the issue with Wendy Pollack, director of the Women’s Law and Policy Initiative at the Shriver Center. We also check in with Mary Lynn Fayoumi, president and CEO of HR Source, a nonprofit employers’ association providing companies with human resources, legal and training services.
