Mashrou Leila is a Lebanon based indie rock band that formed in 2008 after a late night jam session while students at Beirut’s American University. Since then they’ve gained quite a following in the Middle East especially among the young LGBT community; the lead singer is openly gay and has penned a searing ballad about same sex love. They recently wrapped up a short U-S tour. This week on Radio M, a new cut from the band’s latest album. Plus music from Cuba, Pakistan, Senegal and Brazil.
